Editorial policy
In short
Every fact on this site carries a source URL and the date it was read. Operators' own pages come first, third-party detection reports are labelled secondary, and a vendor's description of itself is labelled a vendor claim. Grades follow the published rubric and change only when the evidence changes. Errors are corrected in place and logged.
Sources
The order of preference is the operator's own documentation, then a standard or a repository, then a detection vendor or a news report. Third-party reports are marked secondary. A fact with no source is not published; where an operator publishes nothing, the row says so with the date we checked.
Dates
Every page shows the date its facts were read. An edition is dated the day its crawl or its reading was done and is not backdated. Prices and scores carry the date read.
Claims and findings
What a vendor says about itself is a vendor claim and is labelled. Findings from a vendor's lab, Ora's included, are written as "Ora's lab found (date)", never as a general result. We have not tested the products we grade.
Grades and rank
The rubric is on the method page. A grade changes when the public documentation it rests on changes, and the new URL and date replace the old. Equal points share a rank.
Writing
Plain and specific, in the register of an operator who reads server logs. No marketing adjectives, no unsourced superlatives, and no question headings; the FAQ asks its questions as questions.
Corrections
We correct the page and add a line to the corrections log with the date and what changed. Report an error to editor@agentreadycrawlers.com with the page and a source.
